Hot as Hades

Man I take back everything I said about Mountain View being hot. Holy crikey it's hot in LA. Right now it's about 10:45 pm and it's still like 88 degrees. 88 degrees at NIGHT. Wow, I'm sitting in my parents living room in just a tube dress and I'm sweating. The fan is on and everything. Yeesh. Anyway, what the hell have I been up to?

Wednesday - work, then headed to City Beach for a mini work off-site! Yay!! It was SUPER hot in there but it was really really fun. To explain, City Beach isn't really a beach. It's an indoor sports facility. So they had volleyball courts, basketball courts, ping pong, pool, bocce ball, foosball, and indoor rock climbing! We were there from about 1-4 and then went to the local bar for a bit. After the bar, I met up with Phill to borrow his big backpack.

Thursday - work, a few meetings, left work at 3:30 pm and headed down to LA! I got gas and washed my car in one of those automated things and hit the freeway. I hit traffic on the way down through San Jose, but the drive was traffic-free the rest of the way. WEE! I stopped once to use the bathroom, then stopped again to eat a quick burger at Carl's Jr and get gas. I got home around 10 pm and then just spent the night doing laundry.

Friday - woke up around 10 am, drove over to Susie's house around 11, got Coffee Bean (yum!), then drove out to South Coast. I was the navigator but I kept getting Susie lost. Oopsie! Sorry Sooz. Hehe, but we finally made it to the Costa Mesa rack! Yay!!! I got lots of fun stuff... I got a really cute jersey/cotton tube dress, a really cute stripey tube dress from To The Max (BCBG), and two pairs of cute underpants. After having a "snack" at Boudin's, we walked around Best Buy, then left to meet up my family for dinner. We had Italian food at Lascalia's or something in Whittier and then after dinner, Susie and I went to Old Town for PINKBERRY *yum, I got a REALLY cute thick grey jacket (even though it's hot as hell here, I can wear it in SF), and we walked around Urban. Now it's about 11 pm and I'm going to head to Dave n Buster's to hang out with Alan and David, I haven't seen either of these guys in like 3+ years. Interesting.

Why is it so hot?

It's damn hot in Mountain View today. The air is a bit humid and the sun is blaring. Wow it's hot. I wish I could handle heat like I used to down in LA. I used to wear jeans and stuff in the 100 degree summers and I was fine! I used to sweat a little bit, but not too much. Now, it gets over 80 and I'm dying. Not literally dying or anything, but I'm really hot and uncomfortable. Maybe because I've gotten quite a bit fatter since moving up here? Maybe because I've just grown accustomed to the cool to mild temperatures of the bay area? Hm. Whatever it is, it's made the heat unbearable for me. When I go home to visit, I wear lots of dresses and try not to move while the sun is out. I usually try to avoid leaving the house between the hours of 1-4 because it's just too damn hot. I'm pathetic.

What else is new... hmm. I went to work yesterday, left early to go to REI (bought a really nice/thin/warm NorthFace brown fleece jacket, earplugs, a clothesline, and a microfiber thin towel), got my second ever bikini wax (why? I guess because I'm going to Europe. Who cares, no one will see it but me. It wasn't too bad this time but I did buy some numbing cream to try next time... bikini waxes are awesome), then when I went out to dinner with Ellen at Osha (a Thai place). Dinner was pretty dang yummy. We had chicken satay and thai iced tea. I ordered the pad thai and Ellen got the tom yum. Man we were full after dinner.

Today I just had work and a lovely massage. Now I'm just kind of killing time until the traffic dies down a bit. I need to hit up Best Buy to buy Heroes Season 1 on DVD and then I'll head home to start packing. I've been freaking out (as you can tell from my earlier entries) about the whole packing situation. I'll be sleeping, then wake up and realize I forgot to write something on my packing list, wake up and actually write the item on my list, then go back to sleep. It's completely neurotic. But if it helps me pack, then whatever. I've got lots of crap on that list.

Working on Sunday is not fun

Duh. But at least I can work from home and watch quality television while working. Right now I'm watching Maximum Exposure... the guy show that highlights amateur footage of really random things (fires, explosions, car chases). I watched Sabrina The Teenage Witch and also Miami Ink. Great TV. So this morning I woke up around 9 am, left the house around 9:30 am, got Coffee Bean (mmmmm vanilla latte), and hit the Warehouse Jean Sale at Fort Mason. At first I thought the line would go pretty fast, considering I got there at 10 am. The line wasn't SUPER long, but it did take about an hour to get inside. Luckily I brought my iPod (since I was by myself) and watched a few tv shows on my iPod. When I got inside, the sale was pretty small (as I expected) but I did find two pairs of jeans and one cute shirt! I got one pair of Diesel jeans (with a cute flower design on the pockets), a pair of Earnest Sewn jeans (really really soft!), and a cute black shirt from To The Max (BCBG's cheaper line). Very naice!

After I paid for my stuff, I went to Chinatown to get my new jeans hemmed ASAP. I wanted to make sure that I got my jeans ready to go before I head to LA/Europe. And thankfully, my jeans alteration lady was pretty free and was able to sew BOTH pairs in a few hours. I dropped my jeans off at 12 and picked them up at 3:30... for only $6 each pair, original hem. That lady is the shiz. Since 1 pm, I've been working from home. It kind of sucks because I don't have a desk to sit at and work. So I'm sitting on the couch. Which doesn't create the best work environment. Wow. I just watched a guy get shot on Maximum Exposure. Anyway, back to TV. I mean, work.

"Spring" Cleaning

I woke up at 3:30 pm today. 3:30. Woooow. I haven't woken up that late in a very long time. I had to do a double take when I looked at my clock and then I had to check my cell to make sure my clock wasn't broken. Yeesh. I did get home pretty late last night (3 am) so I didn't really sleep THAT much (like 11 hours... which is pretty long I guess).

Hmmm what have I been doing?

Wednesday - work, left a tad bit early and went to the Stanford Shopping Center with Emily and Melissa. We walked around a bit and I picked up my shirt from Bloomingdale's (cute navy halter) and bought some stuff from Sephora (Stila eyeshadow palette and a pencil sharpener).

Thursday - work, home, dinner, tv... nothing exciting. I did actually watch Alvin and the Chipmunks movie. It was pretty entertaining. Usually when I watch movies that I enjoyed when I was 7, I'm sadly disappointed. But this movie was actually pretty cute and entertaining.

Friday - work, home, drove to Pleasanton with Ellen to go to Louis' house for dinner. We got there around 9-ish and had a really yummy steak dinner (steak, baked potatoes, corn, etc etc) and hung out with the gang (Charlie, Jas, Mike, Chris, Andy, Louis). Louis' little brother had this sweet ass archery set (they weren't real arrows, but it was still really fun anyway). I actually hit the target! Not the bullseye, but no one else hit the target. HA. I told them I was Robin Hood. We then headed down to Fremont to karaoke at this ghetto-ish place called Echo. But it was quite fun :) We sang karaoke for like an hour and a half or so and then Ellen, Phill, and I headed back to SF. I watched a bit of Family Guy when I got home and ended up falling asleep around 4 am. Which explains why I had such a late start today.

After waking up hella late, I brushed my teeth, put my contacts in and then went to McD's for a "nutritious" lunch (chicken nuggets, yum). After stuffing my face and watching TV mindlessly for an hour or so, I started to clean up. I cleaned almost my whole room (with the exception of my messy bookshelf) and then vacuumed my room and the living room. I also shook out the bathroom rugs, vacuumed up the hair on the floor, and then cleaned up the living room a bit. Ahhh it felt nice to have a clean room. I give it three days before it's back to how it was before.

Anyway, I've just been semi-freaking out about Europe lately. I keep misplacing my crap and getting all freaked out. Ugh. It's very very annoying. Yesterday I couldn't find my keys at Louis' house for like five minutes, only to realize they were in the front pocket of my purse (I had Ellen and Louis crawling around the living room trying to find my damn keys) and now I can't find my Nintendo DS Lite charger. AHHH. Totally losing my mind. Also, I found my old camera charger after JUST buying another one off eBay. *sigh I'm retarded. Sometimes I just feel like punching myself in the face.

13 Days to Europe

Ahhh I'm so excited about Europe. I hope it's fun. It better be fun. Yeesh. Anyway, what the hell have I been doing. Hmmm. Sunday I just ran a LOT of errands. And I mean a lot of errands. Well, not so much errands as random things to waste my time. So first I went to the Stonestown Mall and went to Ritz Camera to FINALLY get the water rafting pictures developed and had lunch at Boudin (mmm Chinese Chicken Salad). While waiting for the pics to develop, I walked around the mall (H&M, Nords, Gap, and VS where I bought a new bra... yay!). After the mall, went to Target and got TONS of travel supplies (a tiny container of TOILET PAPER which was funny and cute, toothbrush holder, soap holder, tiny first aid kits, etc.) for my EUROTRIP. After Target, I went to Nords Rack and Marshalls to look for a cute backpack for my trip. After not finding anything, went to Trader Joe's to get some groceries and then headed home. That night I just kind of lounged about the house and just watched TV.

Monday I worked, went to the gym, went home early and just knocked the hell out around 10:30 pm. I'm cool. Today is the same... work and whatever. BUT! Tonight is the dance! Lots of free food and crap. Delightful. I shall head over there eventually. Right now I'm watching Knocked Up off this delightful UK site that Ty found. Weeee. Okay, I'm tired.
