It feels really nice to be home again after not visiting for a few months. Whenever I come home I remember how fruity this house smells. It's weird and pleasant. Anywhoo, so last night I flew into LAX at 10:30 where Susie and Chris picked me up. We headed over to Pink's Hotdogs and had deeeelicious chili cheese dogs after a arduous 45 minute wait. It was worth it. After Pink's Chris dropped me off at home and I pretty much passed out.
This morning I woke up around 9:15 am and started to do some laundry. I showered and got dressed/ready and headed out to the mall to get a mani/pedi before Tracee's graduation. About 5 minutes after I started my mani/pedi (where the manicurist, David, still remembered me even though I hadn't been there in 2 years) when Al texted me to let me know that she might be late to the graduation because her school was on lock down. LOCK DOWN!! I freaked out and after a few texts back 'n forth, found out that there was an anonymous call that there was a gun in the band room. So the SWAT team came and it turns out there was no gun and the call was a prank of some sort. *whew. I was pretty freaked out. But Al didn't seem too scared in her msgs, so I figured she was safe.
Anywhoo, my parents, Al and I left the house and picked up my Grandma in LA. Then we headed out to CSUN for Tracee's graduation. It was a SUPER long ceremony and I've never seen graduation ushers with such inflated egos ("Sorry, you can't reserve seats." ... "oh, well they'll be here in a few minutes." ... "if they're not here in 5 minutes, we're giving the seats away" ... "um, OK."). The ceremony itself was super long and mostly boring, but I did scream a lot when they called Tracee's name. I was also lucky enough to get a video clip on my camera of Tracee's name being called and me screaming. Sweet. After the graduation we went to dinner at this BBQ place called Quincy's in Encino. I love BBQ. Love it. I actually had this conversation with Brian on Thursday during lunch. So I gorged myself on baby back ribs because they're delicious and after dinner we headed over to LA to drop my Grandma off at home.
My aunt lives with my Grandma and is a self-described "Cat Lady." Seriously, my aunt has 14 cats living in the house right now. Four of them are kittens and are going to different homes soon, but right now there are 14... and even without the kittens, it's still 10. Yikes. Anyway, I wanted to play with the kitties even though I'm super allergic. There was this one little grey kitten named Buddy and he was probably the sweetest kitten ever. I held him for a long time and he swatted at my hair. Adorable! I have a lot of pictures because it's rare that I'll get that up close and personal with a cat. Actually I'm lying. Whenever I went to Rich's house I liked to pet his cat too... but I would usually never HOLD a cat. But yeah, I'm now paying for it. My nose is stuffed, I'm semi-coughing, and I have this awful rash on my neck that is going to be VERY ugly tomorrow. And possibly for the next few days.
Plans for tomorrow: Verizon store to get my new phone, get my hair did at 1:30 with Sara @ Regis, shop around a bit with Al (she needs a grad dress)... nothing-ness. Then I might go watch Knocked Up later at night. I'll see if my sisters want to go, but I'm going to go with Chris and Sooz. :) So far it's been a lovely trip back home. And I'll be back here again in two weeks. *sigh... I feel like some kind of important business person with all this travelling! But I'm not... I'm just crazy.
Oh!! More presents I've received since coming home:
Al - Cake Mania for the DS Lite (it's awesome)
Tracee - L'Occitane gift set (the verbena scent! mmm)
Mom/Dad - really pretty matching necklace and earring set
*I'll have pictures of the weekend when I get home
