Ahhh laziness. Let's see what I've been doing this week... hm. Sunday night I stayed in but made homemade cookies! Susie came over and we (plus Al) hung out in the living room watching tv. We also watched the Real Dolls Documentary online. Creepy stuff. Monday I pretty much stayed in all day until about 10 pm when I met up with Alan, Kenny, and Peter at AU for tea. We sat and chatted for a few hours then I was back home around midnight. It felt weird hanging out with those guys... felt like I was at PCC and 18 again. I haven't seen Kenny in 2 years and I haven't seen Peter in probably like 4 years. So crazy.
Tuesday I stayed in again since it was raining until about 8:30 pm when I went to Starbuck's with Susie. After we got our drinks we went out to the Laemmle Theatre in Pasadena to watch Juno. It was the CUTEST movie ever! The dialogue was great and the story line was sweet without being super sappy. Awesome awesome movie. :) After we just went home since it was raining and I ended up watching American Pie: The Naked Mile with Al. Terrible movie. Wow, what a contrast. Haha. I only watched it for like 30 minutes and then I left.
Today I woke up early-ish (um, like 11:45 am), packed, and measured my pants to be hemmed. Al and I got to Victoria Gardens in Rancho Cucamonga around 3 pm and walked around for a few hours. I ended up getting a brown hat for $10, a blue v-neck shirt from Urban for $10, and a cute khaki Billabong purse for like $30. DAMN. I was trying not to buy anything since I just spent like $300 for jeans on Saturday. Crap. I really need to get a job soon... I'm blowing thru my savings like NO TOMORROW. Yikes. It's okay... I'll get some money for Christmas that I can use in Hawaii. Wee! HAWAII! I'm pretty excited. I want to swim with dolphins!
After Victoria Gardens, we drove to Victorville to Tracee's apt. We hung out there for a bit and then head out to dinner at a local Mexican restaurant (it was decent... but I've been suffering from some serious heart burn and stomach problems since I got back from dinner). Al and I tried to find a fun movie to watch at Hollywood Video, but we couldn't agree on anything. So since we got back to the apt we've watched Borat, Janice Dickinson Modeling Agency, and now we're watching Ron Burgandy. Such a funny movie. Okay, I'll go back to watching the movie and dealing with my terrible heartburn.
Tomorrow I'm going to Tracee's little work holiday party and then Al and I are meeting up with my parents and family friends for dinner at some Italian restaurant in Glendora.

Christy + Arcadia = Lazy
Really really really lazy. Wow. Friday I drove from SF to Arcadia... it wasn't a shabby drive. What did suck was that the elevator in my apt was broken. Which made loading up my car a horrific experience. I made maybe 5 trips up and down the stairs with lots n lots of CRAP. I left SF around 11:30 am and made it home around 6:30 pm. It took longer than usual but that was probably due to the traffic in Oakland, my three stops (lunch, gas, starbucks), and the traffic in Pasadena. But overall it wasn't too terrible. Friday night was pretty uneventful, dinner, TV, sleep.
Saturday I went to the Jeans Warehouse Sale with Al and Susie at the Convention Center. I ended up getting THREE pairs of jeans. DAMMIT. Why did I do that! ARGH. But the jeans are pretty damn cute. I got a pair of Hudson, True Religion, and Antik jeans altogether for less than $300! After I had lunch with Susie at the thai place up the street from my house and then I ended up taking a nap for a few hours (since I woke up at 7 am to go to the jeans sale). I hung out at home with my family for a bit and then went out to Cerritos for my dad's work holiday dinner thingy. Dinner was yummy (crab cakes, salad, filet mignon, and CREME BRULEE) and my dad's coworkers are all semi-old and friendly. I got home from dinner around 11 pm and after just hung out with Tracee at home. Man I'm boring.
Today I accompanied Tracee to Rudy's Barbershop in Silverlake and then to Ulta in Pasadena. I got this awesome lotion warmer thing! Now I can feel like I'm in a spa... uh at home. Yeah, okay I know it was a pretty lame purchase, but STILL. Pretty awesome. I've pretty much been doing nothing for the last three days. I had CPK for dinner (take out at home... just how I do in SF) and now I'm watching Kenny VS Spenny on Comedy Central. If you haven't seen this show yet, well you're lame. I'm just kidding. It's a pretty funny (and gross) show.
I feel weird about moving home... I really want to save money and get my life on the right track. I don't know, I just feel conflicted about moving. I feel like more people want me to stay in SF than people want me to move back to Arcadia. Bleh. Right now I'm more concerned with moving I guess. It's possible I'll go to school up in the bay area and leave Arcadia again anyway. We shall see... I think I'm just majorly PMS'ing and I need a hug. Lame! Okay, time to do like eight loads of laundry. Bleeeh.

Paranormal State
So! What exciting things have been happening in Christy world... hm.
Friday - BAKED! I woke up around noon-ish, which is quite on par with an average wake-up time for me, went to Stonestown to eat lunch at the food court because I am lame and then I went to the market to get a few things. I got a big thingy of water and ready to bake cookie things. I got a gingerbread one and a sugar cookie one. Yay! The sugar cookies had little snowmen pictures on them. Adorable. So then I spent about 3 hours baking baking baking. WOW. I felt so domesticated! I made two batches of homemade chocolate chip cookies, the gingerbread cookies, and the sugar cookies. Overall I think I made about... 100 cookies? After baking, I showered and got ready for Emily's party. Melissa showed up at my place around 6:45 and then we head over to the Mission together. Before Em's party, we went to Ambiance for their Customer Appreciation Sale (10% off regular price stuff, 20% off sale stuff). I ended up getting a REALLY cute dark grey silky dress that I can wear to my Dad's work holiday dinner and Melissa got a really cute necklace. We showed up to the party around 8:30 and it really got hopping around 9:30-ish. The house was PACKED! Ellen and Bo showed up around 11 and we all hung out until about 1 am. AWESOME party :)
Saturday - woke up around 11, met Phill's sister and baby niece (who is the cutest baby I've seen in a very long time), had lunch at Brain Wash Cafe (basic breakfast: 2 eggs, potatoes, yummy thick sourdough toast), and then got my nails done at this really cute little pace in the city. After I went home, took a nap, then left with Ellen for our friend Oranuj's birthday. We ate this little Korean place in the city and then hit up a bar in Nob Hill called Sugar Cafe. Nice. Sugar Cafe was pretty nice... pretentious but nice. My tummy wasn't feeling 100%, probably due to an overload of kimchi, so I didn't get anything to drink. I did try Bo's pomegranate drink and it was REALLY good. OH. I also got fed the best line I've ever heard. We were outside and this guy starts talking to me, Ellen, and our friend Olivia. I give Ellen the WTF face and the guy notices so he says to me reassuringly, "I'm not trying to get into your hole or nothing." WHAT. REALLY?! Nice. It was the highlight of my night. All night it was, "Hey can you hand me my purse? I'm not trying to get into your hole or nothing" or "Can you take a picture of us? I'm not trying to get into your hole or nothing." Yikes. Best line EVER.

Sunday - woke up early (10), got to Santa Clara around 12 and met up with Aaron at the Country Inn Cafe. I thought the place would be semi-decent and it turned out to be quite the greasy spoon ghetto cafe. Cheech and Chris showed up at like 12:30 and we had lunch! I got eggs benedict... YUM and it was pretty decent. After lunch, Aaron and I continued onto the movie theatre (minus Cheech and Chris) to see Golden Compass. The movie was actually pretty entertaining but of course the book is 10x better. But yeah, the movie was visually very entertaining. :) After the movie I parted ways with Aaron (I had to get my ass to Target) but NOT before having a totally awkward situation. Yikes. This is how it went:
Aaron: Do you want to go somewhere for ice cream?
Me: Actually, I have to go run errands... sorry. But uh, I'm going out of town on Friday and I'll be back in January so I'll talk to you then? I had fun today though!
Then I lean in to hug him, which was a little bit too much of a deep body contact hug but whatever, and then as we're parting our hug he kind of leans in for a KISS. A KISS?! Seriously. Yikes. I not-very-subtly back away and leave him with a...
Me: Uh, yeah. So... I think I'm moving back to LA in mid-January... but uh, I'll talk to you online? Okay BYE"
Then I high-tail it out of there. Wow. So awkward. I feel bad for shooting him down like that, but it felt so wrong to me! Very sad. He's a really nice and sweet guy, but I have absolutely no interest. *sigh. I have terrible dating luck. Yeesh.
After our date, I went to Target and got lots of presents! Yay, a game for my mom, a game for my little cousins, bed sheets for my parents, and a container of milk for me. :) Very nice. For dinner Ellen and I ordered Chinese Chicken Salads from CPK. Yum.
Today, it was a pretty chill day. I woke up and went to Chinatown to satisfy my pho craving and then I picked up a few egg custard tarts, a few little jewelry boxes that my mom likes, and hot almond milk tea from Ten Ren. I got home around 3:30 and just hung out at home for the rest of the day. Ellen and I made dinner (pasta with spinach artichoke dip as pasta sauce! yum!) and then we watched Paranoral State! The show is actually pretty creepy. I got chills the entire hour we watched that show. The two episodes they played tonight turned out to be only semi-creepy... the previews of next week's episodes looked muuuch scarier. Yikes. Okay, I'm tired updating for now...

Feral: Having returned to an untamed state from domestication.
Wow. I've been out of work for less than a month, and I'm becoming feral. I didn't leave the house at all on Tuesday, yesterday I just left to get lunch, and today I left for like 30 minutes to go to the Apple store with Ellen. WOW. I'm so gross. I didn't even shampoo my hair Tuesday OR Wednesday. I'm disgusting. I'm so bored during the day that I actually take a NAP in the middle of the day... even though I get like 12 hours of sleep at night. What the hell is wrong with me?! Bleh. Anyway. This weekend I have some fun plans I think! Tomorrow it's Emily's fun HOLIDAY PARTY at her apt! I'm making homemade chocolate chip cookies (wow, wish me luck on that one) and bringing a bottle of Framboise. Mmmm raspberry beer.
Saturday afternoon I have plans with Melissa to try this reflexology place in the Inner Richmond and then Saturday night it's dinner and a bar for Oranuj's birthday! Yay plans. Sunday I'm going on a double date with Cheech, Chris, and AARON. One of my eHarmony boys. Okay, let's be honest. My only eHarmony guy. I was chatting with another guy on eHarmony and he friended me on FB... and his profile says he's in a relationship! So random. Then he msg'ed me on gChat and I asked him about his FB relationship status. And then... he stopped chatting. Haha... not even ONE response. WOW. So classy... and it's not like I was being creepy and friended him... he approached ME on FB and asked to be friends. Does he think I'm not going to look at his profile? Why must people be stupid and assume that everyone else is just as stupid? Yeesh.
Anyway. Yeah. Double date on Sunday with Cheech... brunch and GOLDEN COMPASS. I'm pretty damn excited. :)
Okay, I hope tomorrow is going to be more interesting than Tuesday, Wednesday, and today. Yeesh I'm a loser. Also! I think I'm driving back to LA on Friday, Dec. 14th. Might as well... I'm not doing ANYTHING in SF right now...

Overheard in New York City
A few blurbs from one of the funniest websites I've come across (www.overheardinnewyork.com):
Customer: Um, excuse me, I ordered a root beer float, but you gave me a beer float.
Burger girl: Oh my god... I'm sorry.
Customer: I mean, I like your custard, and I like beer, but...
Random guy: Hey, can I have it?

Young Asian man to Asian woman with baby, while touching baby's foot: She is so soft. Does she have bones yet?
Asian mom: Yes, she has bones!

Old guy: Hey! You respect your elders! Don't be disrespectful to your elders!
12-year-old boy: Shut the fuck up! Come here! Come over here! I'll fuck you up! Fuck you!
Passerby: I'd love to see an old man and a little kid throw down in the middle of Union Square.

Drunk NYU girl: So, what I'd really like to do is help the innocent... [Drunk friend laughs.] With, like, fireballs!

Girl: Ugh! Can I hang myself with your tie, please?
Guy: No! I love this tie!

Fat lady #1: Excuse me, could you move over?
Thin woman: Well, I can't move over anymore.
Fat lady #1: Excuse me, could you move over?
Fat lady #2: There is no way you're going to fit in that space.
Fat lady #1: If you moved over I could. I'm not fat like you.
Fat lady #2: Not only are you fat, but you're crazy. You think I'm fat? Get away before I eat you.

Mother: Oh my god! I just saw a bird fly by the window! Isn't that neat?
Teen: Don't be ridiculous, Mom. Birds can't fly that fast. It was probably a bullet.

Older brother: Ha ha, you look like a mice.
Younger brother: You don't even know how to speak. You're supposed to say I look like a mouse.
Older brother: No, a mice is a mouse when it's still little.

AND FINALLY... this is one I've actually said before to those register to vote people outside of WalMart:
Young woman: Hey, would you like to sign up and register to vote?
Man: No, thanks. I'm an illegal alien.

Ahh lazy everyday.
So! Thanksgiving last week was very very nice. Friday, I didn't do much shopping. I just went to this little store called Appalet with my little sister and Target to get a few essentials (shampoo, facewash, etc.). Um, I don't remember what I did Friday for the rest of the day... oops. :)
Saturday I woke up and went to my aunt's house in Simi Valley for dinner (hot pot! YUM!) and then when I got back, I met up with Calvin, Magus, David, Val, and Eric to go to Morongo (Indian casino). We got there around 1:30 am and left at like 5 am. WOW. I ended up even... although if I had stopped playing when I was up, I would've won $150. DAMMIT. Oh well, it was still fun and I didn't end up LOSING money. Yay!
Sunday I woke up and went to Nordstrom in Riverside with Sooz. We shopped pretty much ALL day and had lunch at the Nordstrom Cafe. After shopping, Susie, Chris, and I went to eat dinner at Tofu House (yum Korean food) and went to AU after to meet up with Calvin, Magus, etc. Right after we got to AU, Susie, Chris, and I were all sitting inside just hanging out and getting settled. I went outside to see what the boys were up to and noticed that they were all freaked out and looking towards the sushi place at the end of the plaza (like four businesses away). Then I found out that there had been a SHOOTING at the sushi place. Apparently it was a robbery and the owner got shot... SO SAD. I'm not sure if the robber/murderer has been found yet... so scary. No one heard any shots either. Yikes. After that I went home for a bit to finish up laundry and then met up with the boys AGAIN at Station. I think I went to Station like three or four times last week. Wow.
Monday I had lunch with my little sister, went to visit the puppies and kitties at the SPCA, and hung out at home. Later on I met up with Magus at Station (again) to watch MNF and eat pizza... exciting! After I went home and started getting packed up. I headed over to Susie's house around 10 and hung out there until like 1 am.
Tuesday I drove up to SF with Andrew. It was a decent drive... we actually left at like 3 pm and got into the city at 9 pm (with a dinner/gas stop!). Very nice :) Wednesday I just got a mani/pedi and went to the Cirque Du Soleil traveling show (Kooza) with Thuy, Olivia, and Thuy's friends. Very nice! Today I had lots of errands to handle... doctor appt (shots!), Google lunch, eyebrow waxing, mall (where I got two pairs of shoes from Nordys, one pair is the pic above! yay, Michael by Michael Kors), Target (food), and now... I am finally home :) Tomorrow I don't have any plans but to hang out at home and relax.

Happy Thanksgiving!
Ahh so it is technically Thanksgiving. One of my favorite holidays! Lots of food, family, and good times... and Christy updating her blog at 4 am. Nice work. Anywhoo, what have I been doing this week?
So Monday after the LA Auto Show, Susie, Chris, and I headed to Pink's for some deeelicious chili cheese dogs. Quite yummy... and after that I just hung out at home and passed the heck out. Tuesday morning, I woke up around 11-ish and then met up for lunch with Calvin and Magus at Casa Del Rey... yummy Americanized Mexican food. I got the same thing I always get (chicken enchilada with rice on the side) and after lunch we headed to Par 4, the local driving range. We hit about 90 balls and I almost killed Magus and Calvin. Oops. Somehow I hit the metal grate next to the stall and the ball ricocheted back and missed the boys by about two feet. Of course, this scared the shit out of me so I stopped swinging. After the driving range I got my car smog checked and then hung out at home for awhile.
Since it's a rule in my parent's house to cook at least once a week while home, I ended up cooking steak for the four of us. Yum! After dinner I was hella full but STILL decided to get Pinkberry with Susie and Chris... medium sized original with fresh mango, rice cake things, and fruity pebbles... yep, you heard me. Fruity pebbles. After Pinkberry I was uber stuffed but still went out with Alan and David to Tapioca Express. I didn't get anything but hung out with the guys for awhile catching up. Around 11-ish I went back home... but only for a minute because I decided to go out AGAIN to the dive bar with Calvin, Magus, Peter, and Andrew. Sweet. Man, I hang out with a lot of dudes. Hm. The bar was fun since we were the only patrons. Although I did get there first and this nice young Asian guy bought me a Shirley Temple (which the bartender comped anyway). Fun times.
Today I woke up and got my hair did at Regis with Sara. She always does a really nice job with my hair. I got my highlights redone and decided to go a bit darker than usual since it's Fall and all. After I got my hair done and picked up a cute long sleeve shirt from Nordstrom, I went to LA to pick up Ellen from her parent's house and then swung by Jenn's place (after getting lost for awhile first) and then we had a yummy dinner at Curry House in J-Town. After dinner we had nothing to do so of COURSE we went to karaoke. We sang for about 2 hours and had a lot of fun... we sang Sweet Child O' Mine, Welcome to the Jungle, MmmBop (that was Jenn's... I swear), and Du Hast to name a few. Just like old times! After I dropped Ellen and Jenn off and drove back to Arcadia. I hung out at home for a few hours with my sisters and then headed out once again with Calvin and Magus (plus Tony and Tina). We went to Barcelona Bar in Old Town then decided to just get booze and drink at Tony's house. I successfully had two and a half tiny shots of black label Johnny Walker... and I am here, lucid, and writing a blog post. WOW. Okay, honestly I'm a little tipsy. Heehee. Although I'm only about 12% drunk compared to Magus. He was trying to get me to drink more so he drank 3 full sized shots to my 2 tiny shots. Sucker.
Tomorrow, I plan on going to visit my grandpa's grave with my family in the AM and then help around the house to get ready for Thanksgiving. I'm going to have about 15-20 relatives coming over for the turkey feast, so I'm sure there'll be lots for me to do... unfortunately. So on that note, I guess I'll drink an entire water bottle and get my ass to bed.
Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

Arcadia
Woo! I'm back down south and it's grrreat. Well... I've only been here for less than 24 hours, but still! Let's see... what did I do last week? Hmm... it was kind of a blur...
Monday - had brunch at Squat & Gobble with my Golden Compass book as a companion, walked around Haight, bought groceries, cooked meatloaf for dinner for Ellen, Jen, and Bo
Tuesday - made myself french toast... that is it.
Wednesday - had an informative interview, picked up Ellen, went to Steve & Barry's, bought 4 new tops from the SJP Bitten line! Two button down stripey shirts, black woven tank top, navy cotton t-shirt
Thursday - met up with old teamers for Google lunch, hung out in the old office with Melissa, Emily, and Garrison, had a coffee *DATE* with a guy from eHarmony... it was weird but he was nice I guess *shrug, picked up Emily from the office, drove to SF, had dinner with Melissa and her roommates at The Front Porch (I got this GIANT pork chop... very yummy)
Friday - finally fell asleep at 6:30 am (I FINISHED THE GOLDEN COMPASS TRILOGY! WOOOO) ate my pork chop leftovers for lunch, watched tv, fell asleep from 3-6, packed, had dinner with Emily and Melissa at Luna Park, went to Do Re Mi karaoke for THREE HOURS with Melissa, Emily, Ellen, Kathy, Bo, Phill, and two of Ellen's old coworkers. So fun!
Saturday - drove down to Fresno, had a quick lunch at Wendy's, finally got to Fresno around 3, relaxed at my Aunt & Uncle's house with my parents and little sister, went to big Chinese dinner to celebrate my 2nd cousin's new baby (who is ADORABLE!), hung out at my Aunt & Uncle's... fell asleep around 1 am... which was pretty difficult as my dad was sleeping like 4 feet away from me and snoring hella loudly... aww Dad. hehe
Sunday - had breakfast at Denny's with family + Aunt, Uncle, and cousin, drove to LA with a stop in Bakersfield for some McD's ice cream, finally got into Arcadia around 3 pm, took a shower, watched Ratatouille (which is such a cute movie... I really liked it), had Chinese food for dinner, grabbed a beer with Magus at the local dive bar
Today - well! I woke up at like 10:30... and. I'm still in bed. Nice. I need to eventually get up, get lunch at The Hat (mmmm chili cheese burger), go to Old Town to return some stuff at Urban, eat PinkBerry, and then head to the LA Auto Show with Susie and Chris! YAY!
That is all for now... I can't wait for Thanksgiving... mmm turkey!

Scheißer
Quick note... I realized I was spelling "schizer" wrong. Turns out it's actually "scheißer." The little letter thingy ß actually is for a SS type sound. So it's spelled "sheisser" in the American way I guess. :) Random information.
Free and Broke
So Friday was my last day at work. It was definitely bittersweet. Emily was so sweet... she got me a beautiful orchid plant, a cupcake, AND a homemade card with a picture of Trooper on it. Best presents ever! We had a team lunch at one of the cafes and I turned all my stuff in around 4 pm. Eric brought Trooper in so I could puppy sit him most of the day. I think I had him for like two hours. Nice! He's probably the sweetest dog ever... very easy going. After, I went to Bld. 50 (as we call the bar down the street) for some last drinks with friends. Well not last drinks with friends... last drinks with coworkers. I left around 7-ish with Emily, Kathy, and Chris in tow. We sang sappy 90s songs the whole way home... it was great. Chris didn't enjoy it as much, but whatever. We had dinner at the Cancun Taqueria in the mission... yum! After, I dropped everyone off and just hung out at home. It was nice and very very chill.
Saturday, I woke up around 11-ish. I got my car an oil change (plus new windshield wipers, new air filter, new license plate lightbulb thingy) and then headed to the Stonestown mall. I got lunch at the Korean place in the foodcourt which was delicious, then lotions from Bath & Body Works (there's a sale! buy 3, get 1 free and if you spend $30 you get a $10 giftcard). After I checked out the Half Yearly Sale at Nordys. I ended up getting a pair of fake Nordstrom brand Uggs (short boots in dark brown), black leather pointy toe flats, and a green canvas/cotton-y jacket. Also, I got Cheech's birthday present! Yay.
I left the city around 7-ish to meet up with Cheech and company for her birthaty at Maggiano's in Santana Row. Dinner was GREAT! It was really yummy... everything is served family style in huge quantities. We got caesar salad, spinach salad, calamari, spinach artichoke dip, spaghetti with meatballs, chicken parmigian, some creamy noodle dish with mushrooms, and salmon on spinach. YUM. For desert we got tiramisu, some apple cobbler type thing, and a cake that Stef brought for Cheech! There were 11 of us total: Cheech, Chris, Stef, George, Lenny, Will, Jen, Young, George, George's gf Karen, and me! After dinner I was so stuffed and tired (it was raining so the drive down sucked) and decided to head back to SF. I got home around 12:30 am and watched Reno 911: Miami and just played my DS. Very lame but relaxing.
Today I did absolutely nothing. I had McD's for lunch, was so bored I fell asleep on the couch, read The Subtle Knife (Golden Compass #2 book), and watched tv. Ellen made AWESOME shrimp tacos for dinner and after Ellen, Phill, and I headed to the Metreon to watch The Nightmare Before Christmas in 3D!!! So fun... BUT. When we got to the theatre, there were COPS everywhere... and that yellow tape. The main entrance to the theatre was closed off... but we decided to park and see if the theatre was open anyway. Turns out there was a SHOOTING inside the Metreon. Which seems like the most terrible idea since the Metreon is super crowded on a regular day AND there is the Oracle convention going on right behing the Metreon. Yikes. But the movie thetre was still open. We saw clothes and blood on the floor near the ticket counter. Yikes. I guess I'll read about it tomorrow morning. After the movie, we got McD's ice cream and watched the show Jon & Kate Plus 8. It's about this family... they have one set of twins and a set of SEXTUPLETS. Yeesh... I don't know what I'd do if I had 8 kids... I'd probably tear all my hair out.
And now... I'm just watching tv. It's hella late for me to be awake... but since I don't have work tomorrow, I can do whatever I want! Woo! So, back to the Simpsons and The Subtle Knife.

Dear Frankie
... is the best movie EVER. Maybe not ever... Tommy Boy is pretty great, but this movie was really really sweet and touching and cute. Wow. Most touching movie I've seen in a really long time. It's about this mom and her deaf son. Her son writes all these letters to his dad that is a sailor and who he hasn't seen since he was a baby. And it's really the mom writing letters to her son because the real dad is a jerk. Anyway. I don't want to spoil the movie, but it's sooo good. Also, it stars Gerard Butler. Who is JUST as sexy as he is almost naked in 300.
Anyway! Updates... let's see...
Last Thursday, Friday, AND Saturday I mostly stayed home because I've been sick and lazy and sleeping. Saturday night I drove down to Pismo to meet up with Susie and Chris for a fun random weekend trip! We met up around midnight (well... side story: I got there first around 11:45 pm, but there was a light on inside the condo. I was scared because I thought someone might be inside, but there wasn't supposed to be anyone there... so I freaked out and just waited for Susie and Chris in the parking lot of the market down the street. Turns out some jerk [probably my 2nd cousin] left the light on [for two months] on accident) and just hung out watching tv and chatting.
Sunday morning we woke up and had brunch at this little place called Village Cafe. They had eggs benedict (YES!) and after a delicious brunch we grabbed coffee from Coffee Bean to get energized for outlet shopping! Well, Susie and I went outlet shopping whilst Chris watched some big important football game (colts vs. patriots or something?). Susie and I both found some good deals. I got a cute long sleeve hoodie shirt from Aeropostale for $10 and a tan colored zip up jacket from CK. Susie got a cute zip up hoodie from DC and pj pants from CK. After shopping, we watched more tv and just hung out at the condo (also we napped). Around 7-ish we headed out for dinner at Jocko's Steakhouse in Nipomo (15 min drive south). BEST STEAKHOUSE EVER. Probably because it's so cheap and homey and delicious. After dinner we were stuffed, so we walked around Walmart for awhile (I bought the Golden Compass series... it's three books in one!) and eventually ended back at the condo to watch more tv and chit chat.
Monday we had lunch at Splash Cafe then drove out to Madonna Inn (it was ol' "Uncle" Carl's suggestion) to check it out. That place is really bright, gaudy, and WEIRD. But interesting. It has like 109 theme hotel rooms (i.e., Vienna, Old Cars, Fleur De LIs, the Rock Suites with furniture and sinks made of rocks like Fred Flintstone) and is just totally over the top and kitsch. After that we drove back to the condo to clean and we departed around 2 pm. I got a coffee for the road and headed back towrds SF. Susie and Chris got a flat tire on their way home and crappily had to drive home on a donut wheel. Poor Chris's car :( I stopped at the Gilroy outlet stores to pick up a cute sweater vest from CK (for interviewing) and ended up getting ANOTHER sweater vest and skirt from BR and a button down white shirt from J.Crew. Nice. Finally got back to the apt around 8 pm and just hung out with Ellen.
On my ride home I thought long and hard about my life. Well not really my LIFE on a broad scale, but what I'm going to do about my work, money, and career situation. I had a few options... stay in SF (find an apt and/or another roommate), move down south to Silicon Valley (find an apt and/or live with Ellen & Phill), or move back to LA to live with my parents. I decided that since I don't want to do recruiting for the rest of my life and I wanted to save money... the best decision would be to move back to LA. I'll miss Ellen and my friends in the bay area, but I'll come and visit all the time. :) I think I just need to reflect and see what I really want to do. I think I'll go back to grad school for either Organizational Psychology or School Psychology or something. Hm. I feel like I just graduated college again or something. Yeesh. But that's the plan for now... unless I get a call from Facebook or something for an interview. :) We'll see.
Back to my updates... yesterday was just another boring lazy work day and at night I went to Emily's house for dinner! Melissa and I showed up at Emily's place at 7:30-ish to find a DELICIOUS home cook meal ready for us. Emily was so sweet and made us Cioppino! Yum!! And for dessert she made us apple cobbler. Wow! Such a great meal... we had a lot of fun eating and talking :)
This morning I drove down to the Palo Alto Nordstrom to see the sale stuff... but unfortch it was disappointing. I ended up only getting socks and tights. But I'll try another Nordstrom on Saturday to see if there's anything I missed. :) After that, today was yet another work day and after work met up with Evelyn, Cheech, Ty, Lucy, and Sarah for drinks in downtown Palo Alto at Nola's. It was fun to chat and drink and eat appetizers. I got a raspberry mojito and it was DELISH. Yum. After, I went home and watched Dear Frankie with Ellen. Sigh. I can't stress how great this movie is... first movie that's made me cry in a really long time.
Wow, this was a long post. Okay, that's it for now!

Leona Lewis
This girl is AMAZING. She was the winner of X Factor in the UK... and if Beyonce and Mariah Carey somehow had a child, this girl woud be it. Haha. With green eyes? Hm.
Anywhoo... I like her voice. Too bad I can't buy her song because it's only on UK iTunes. Boo!

Sick
Bleh! I am sick. Not terribly sick, just feeling overall crappy. I have a bit of congestion and fatigue. Damn Michelle for getting me and Melissa sick! But the nice thing is, I get to stay home and rest :) Yay for WFH (working from home)! Sweet.
I just made myself some pancakes and now I'm watching the movie The Wizard. If you guys haven't seen this... then you really should. It's about these two kids and they run away from home to enter this video game contest. It's freaking awesome. It came out in like 1989 and it has Fred Savage, Christian Slater, and this one girl from Troop Beverly Hills. So funny. I just read about the Troop Beverly Hills chick... Jenny Lewis? I guess she's the singer of Rilo Kiley. Hm. Anyway, I'm babbling.
This week has been pretty interesting so far I guess? Monday I just had work and then got my eyebrows waxed. Tuesday was a more exciting day! Yay. Tuesday morning, I picked up Melissa, Emily, and Ty to go to Sonoma! Before we left, we made a stop at BevMo and decided to get LOTS of alcohol and snacks for the trip. We got to Sonoma around 12 pm, took a look at the house we were going to stay at (SO NICE, Emily has pics and I'll post em as soon as she uploads them) and then had lunch at a little restaurant in downtown Sonoma. The rest of the group arrived around 2 pm and then the girls went to get massages at the Sonoma Day Spa. My massage therapist was kind of crazy, but nice I guess. Worst massage I've ever had... but it wasn't THAT terrible.
After the massages, we went back to the house to hang out. We ordered food from another restaurant in town and then Emily, Ty, and I went to get breakfast food and pick up everyone's dinner. After dinner we all hung out, drank, and played Charades. Best game ever! Anyway, after we told ghost stories and we all finally went to be around 1 am.
On Wednesday, we woke up early (7:30) then packed up to leave the house at 8:30 am. We went to ANOTHER house (there was a scheduling error that the owner of the first house made, so we had to go to another house down the road for our meeting). We did work stuff for a bit, then finally left Sonoma around 10:30 am to go back to work. At work we did nothing (of course) except eat and hang out at the Halloween party (which was lame). Emily and I left around 3:30 pm and got home at like 4:30! It was awesome. I felt crappy so I took a nap from like 5-8 pm and then got Panda Express with Ellen. She went out to the Viceland party (which I was thinking of going to, but decided on staying in to sleep) whilst I stayed home feeling sick. Bleh. I went to bed at like 11 pm and woke up at like 9 am. NICE. :)

Sharry Potter
Happy Early Halloween! Wee. So my weekend was pretty fun. On Friday night, I went to the SF Mall with Emily and Melissa to look for parts of my slutty Harry Potter outfit. I found a cute corset top with a bra sewn into it! Vary naice. After we went shopping, Melissa and I ate at Out the Door in the mall foodcourt. Out the Door is just a slightly (but not much) cheaper and more casual Slanted Door. But irregardless, it was still QUITE delicious. We got the fried veggie spring rolls, glass noodles with dungeness crab, and glazed shrimp with onions. YUM. So good. After dinner we walked around Border's (I got two books and an iPod cover) and then watched SuperBad! I can't believe the movie is still out. I watched it on the day it opened and kind of forgot what happened... also I had a free movie ticket so what the hell. :)
Saturday, I woke up and went to the mall to get the finishing touches of my costume. But first I had to return a skirt I had bought off J.Crew (I bought two different sizes of the same skirt because I wasn't sure which one would fit) and eat lunch at SF Soup Company (yum chicken tortilla!). Then I found a cheap black short skirt from Guess ($9.90!) and classic stockings. Delightful! After I went home, took a nap, watched TV, and finally got ready around 6:30 pm. Melissa showed up at my place around 7:15-ish and we headed over to Emily's at 8 pm. We had pre-party drinks (okay, I won't lie... I had a glass of Pom juice and Emily and Melissa had pom/vodka) then we walked down to Velvet Cantina for dinner. Yum! I got steak tacos and rice. I also drank half of a margarita! Wooo. After dinner we took a cab to Delirium at 16th/Valencia and partied for awhile. It was hot in the back room and they played random 80s and 90s songs, but it was really fun to just dance and hang out. Around 1 am Melissa, Kathy, and I left the club and walked to Emily's house where I parked my car. The walk was QUITE long (especially since I was wearing very high heels) and there were two big hills. But overall, the walk wasn't too terrible.
Sunday... wow. Sunday was the laziest Sunday I've had in awhile. I woke up around 12:30 pm with a bad ass headache (is that what a hangover feels like? damn you dehydrated body!) and ate ramen for lunch with Ellen and Phill. Then I read my new book, The Golden Compass (which is really interesting!), and took a VERY long nap from like 4:30 - 8 pm. Yikes. I felt really cracked out. After a satisfyingly fattening McD's dinner, I just read and watched tv.
Lovely lazy Sunday.

No conversion
Which is fine! I don't actually mind that I'm not getting converted as a permanent employee. I'm excited where I'm going to end up next :) Anyway... updates. Hm.
So! Sunday I met up with Melissa in Hayes Valley for brunch. We had meant to eat at Fritz, but unfortunately it's closed for renovation. Suck. So instead we had a deeelicious brunch at Absinthe. I got the croque madame (ham and cheese sandwich with an egg on top) and lemonade while Melissa got the banana blueberry pancakes with a mimosa. YUM. It was good. After brunch, we randomly wandered around Hayes and didn't buy anything. Wow! After I dropped Melissa off at home, I went to the apt to watch TV and take a nap. I woke up around 3:30 and met up with Mike for coffee. We went to this cute little area near West Portal (I think) and hung out at this cute coffee shop. We chatted for awhile... mostly about Nordstrom gossip stuff and then I went home to lounge around. Can't beat lazy sundays. I think brunch is my new favorite thing. It's so FUN... especially when it's beautiful and sunny outside. Yay!
Mmmm... this week has been pretty uneventful except for the non-conversion stuff. Tomorrow night I might go to a party with Melissa and Saturday is Emily's birthday! YAY! I got my costume stuff last night... so sweet. Cape, tiny glasses that are way too small for my face, crappy plastic wand, and child-sized tie. YES! Haha... I'll be slutty sHarry Potter. SWEET.
Okay, that is all for now. :)

Halloween Update!
WOOO. Quick Halloween update...
I saw a commercial for Halloween costumes on TV and decided to check out the site since I'm sitting on my ass on the couch with my laptop. AND I found a really cheap Harry Potter robe, glasses, wand, and TIE. I got all these AND express shipping for $60 total! SWEEEET. So! I'll get these by Wednesday or Thursday.
So instead of being Harry Potter... I'll be Sharry Potter.
Robe + button down shirt + tie + v-neck sweater + black pants + glasses + wand + CHRISTY = SHARRY POTTER

Wooo it's finally FRIDAY
Thank goodness! It is finally the end of the week. Not like I've done that much during the week. But it's still nice to look forward to sleeping in on the weekend. Let's see what I've been doing this week...
Monday - work, gym, home, HEROES!
Tuesday - work, gym, home, sleep
Wednesday - work, dinner, tv, sleep
Thursday - work, dinner at Souplantation with Ellen, Bo, and Lawrence (and two of their other coworkers)
Friday - work, left hella early with Ty and Melissa, went to a giant Halloween store (nada), went to a smaller Halloween store in the Lower Haight, went to Kathy J's art show in the Mission, dinner in the Mission, Ice Cream from Bi-Rite Creamery
Today was quite the busy day! Not work related of course... but social thingys. Wee. So Ty and Melissa and I left work at like 3:45 pm and drove up to the city. After heading to the city we went to the Spirit Halloween Store (mega cheapy halloween store) where I found a cute Lucy costume. I didn't buy it tho because while I liked it... I didn't exactly love it. I'm so wishy-washy when it comes to Halloween costumes. *sigh. I can't make up my damn mind. Anywhoo... after Spirit, we went to a smaller Halloween store on Haight St. They had more authentic stuff... I asked if they had a CHP uniform and they DID! Unfortch, they don't let people buy them... they let people RENT them for like $60 for two nights and three days. Since Emily's birthday celebration is on Saturday and actual Halloween is on Wednesday, I'd have to pay for two rentals. Bleh. So no luck there either.
After the Haight costume shop, we headed to the Mission to go see Kathy's art exhibit! It was actually really nice and I enjoyed looking at all the art. Most of the art were paintings and photography. But there was one installation piece... which was weird and artsy fartsy. Hm. Anyway, I felt very smart and hipster-ish for going to an art show. Kathy's art was awesome! Paintings of MEERKATS. Haha, I loved it. After the art show, Ty, Melissa, and I walked around the Mission to find dinner. First we tried Tartine's but it was closed. Boo. Then we went to Luna Park, but it was a 45 minute wait. Bleh. THEN we found this great Chinese place called Yum Yum House! So great. We got wonton soup, veggie potstickers, honey walnut prawns, and meatless kung pao chicken! The tasty surprise was the meatless kung pao chicken! It was just little bits of tofu with some other delicious ingredient. So good.
After dinner we walked down the street to the Bi-Rite Creamery. SF famous for it's deeelicious ice cream. It's organic and natural or whatever and SO delicious. Heaven in my mout. I got a cup of the Honey Lavender ice cream. So good. It was weird but really nice and light. New favorite!
For the weekend... well tomorrow I might just hang out at home. Run a few errands... like look for a damn costume, drop off all my give-away stuff to the Goodwill, etc. Sunday I have plans to have lunch with Melissa (and maybe Ty) in Hayes Valley at Fritz (fancy-ish fry place!) and also meet up with an old Nordstrom buddy, Mike O., for coffee. Sweet!
If only it was raining right now... it'd be so nice and cozy. :)

Ah lazy weekends...
Wow, it's been quite awhile since I've last updated. I wasn't sure anyone was reading so I kind of just stopped writing. But then I talked to Susie on Friday and she requested an update :) Wee. Haha! SO. What the hell have I been up to? Last week was... well just work and TV. Monday it was Heroes and Thursday it was The Office. I don't think I did anything exciting besides that. Friday night I just hung out at home with Ellen, Phill, and my NEW MACBOOK. My new mac is so cute and awesome. I spent any and all free time over the weekend with my new toy. It's the 13" white macbook (2.16 MHz with the double layer super drive... which is fancy talk for I can burn DVDs! yay!).
Saturday, I woke up early-ish due to macbook excitement and then got ready to go out around 11-ish. Ellen, Phill, and I went to Union Square to eat lunch a the Nordstrom Cafe and then we kinda shopped around for a bit. OK, well I shopped around. The wait for lunch was like 20 minutes and within that 20 minute time period, I was able to buy two tank tops and one shirt in BP. Nice. After lunch we went to Footlocker, Express, and Macy's. Macy's was having a Shop for a Cause event (you buy a raffle ticket for $5 and you get 20% all purchases all day). Unfortunately, Macy's didn't have any really cute clothes to buy. Ellen walked away empty handed and I got a long sweater coat thingy. Although I bought quite a few things, I really only spent like $50 all day. Yay for cheap things! After shopping, we hung out at home for a bit... watched tv and such. And then we went out for a deeelicious CRAB dinner at Nonna Rose's at the wharf. After a very satisfying meal we met up with Bo, Thuy, Jen, and Oranuj at Rouge in Russian Hill. The crowd was pretty ghetto and it was way too crowded but we still had fun dancing.
Sunday I woke up semi-earlyish and was picked up by Melissa around 12:20 pm. We went out to the Haight and had yummy brunch food at Squat & Gobble (I ordered Eggs Benedict... and it was SO yummy). After brunch, we walked around Haight looking for costume stuff. Since I want to be She-Ra, it's a bit difficult finding the necessary accessories. I only ended up buying a can of gold hairspray. Oh well, I still have time! I hope... After Melissa dropped me back off at home, I went to Best Buy to get a laptop case, Nordstrom Rack (for no good reason) and bought a cute cheapy $10 shirt, and then Trader Joe's for some groceries. It's interesting that the only perishable things I bought was a loaf of bread and cheese. Everything else was frozen or canned. Anywhoo, after my errands I just hung out at home with Ellen and Phill. We watched a few episodes of Heroes on dvd and then Ellen made a really yummy clam fettuccine dish. Yum.
And today is just another day at work... traffic was great this morning. Only took me like 55 minutes to get to work instead of an hour and ten. Yay!
Okay, this concludes my post. :)

Finally, a non-Euro post!
Yay~ So, let's see... updates! Last weekend was grrreat. I met up with Melissa, Emily, and MICHELLE (who drove all the way up from Watsonville to hang out) at Nordstrom in downtown SF. We went shopping at Nordies, Club Monaco, Bloomie's, Urban, H&M, and BR in downtown. Then we headed to the Marina and went to Sephora! After Sephora, we had dinner at this little place in the Marina called Eastside West. Melissa and I got fish tacos (which were eh, not too gross but not that delicious) with sweet potato fries (which WERE delicious). Emily got the crab and Michelle got the filet mignon. It was a really nice dinner! After dinner, Michelle had to drive back home so Emily, Melissa, and I went to the Mission to bar hop! So fun. We started out at Elixir (had one drink... well I had a diet coke), then went to Casanova (too crowded, didn't even go in), then Skylark (where there was a big birthday party and they had this GIANT delicious looking chocolate cake), and finally we ended up at Double Dutch. Ty arrived a little after 11 pm and it was a really fun little bar (with a dance floor in the back!). We stayed until like 12:30 am and finally succumbed to the tiredness. Overall, it was a great day! I bought TONS of stuff:
Nordies: bright pink semi-ruffly tank top, cream cardigan, brown top
BR: white/brown stripped sweater
Sephora: Stila illuminating moisturizer, Stila concealer stick
Sunday, I had dim sum with Andrew, Kathy, and Steven in Chinatown. We tried a new place on Broadway. It was hella crowded so we didn't get seated for 30 minutes, but the food was pretty good. I still like the ghetto place I usually go to on Pacific. Hm. Oh well, after dim sum we walked around Chinatown. I got a little dan tat (egg custard) from the famous Golden Gate Bakery and then I got some bread too! Yum. Come to think of it, I haven't even eaten that bread yet. Ooops. After Chinatown, I went to Target in Daly City to get some essentials. I just kind of hung around the house in the evening, watching Family Guy and the Simpsons. Later tho, Ellen, Phill, and I got bored... so we went to the market and got coke and chocolate ice cream for YUMMY coke floats. We were pretty dang hyper after that and were trying to do all these exercise moves on Ellen's new yoga mat. We're crazy.
Monday, it was back to work as usual. Ellen, Phill, Bo, and Lawrence came to visit me for dinner *yum and then after Ellen and I just went home and watched tv (I introduced her to Meerkat Manor... such an addicting show). Also, Ellen and I bought stuff from AE.com. Wee! I got myself a PJ dress, a really cute navy shirt, and a grey cardigan hoodie!
Yesterday, I just had work, then the gym, then dinner, then home. I actually went to bed at like 10 pm and got 9 hours of sleep. It was awesome, I'm looking for a repeat tonight! Today, again... just work, the gym, and such. My life is pretty boring. Okay! That is it for now. :) Yay non-Europe post!

EuroTrip! Part 3 (The Conclusion) - Lucerne to London
Wow, it's been awhile since I've updated. I hope I still remember what the hell I did in Europe. Hmm...
Day 10 - Lucerne
We left Florence early in the morning for Lucerne, Switzerland. We drove through Italy, passed Lake Como (where George Clooney owns a big ass house on the lake), and arrived into Switzerland around 2 pm. We arrived at the base of Mt. Stanserhorn and took a little train half-way up the mountain and then took sky gondolas the rest of the way up. We walked around Mt. Stanserhorn for about an hour (we hiked up to the top of the mountain and it was BEAUTIFUL. I wish it wasn't foggy, but it was still an amazing view) and saw these little animals called Marmots. They were kind of like fat gophers? Hm. Anyway, the mountain was beautiful... we left the mountain around 4 pm and drove into Lucerne. We didn't really get a chance to walk around the shops... but I did get some yummy chocolates for my family and a dark chocolate bar for myself (all which I accidentally left in Arcadia... damn).
After we checked into our hotel (WHICH WAS A CONVERTED PRISON... yeah, seriously. It was a working prison until 1998... why in the hell would Contiki choose this? So weird) we just hung out in the room (which was freaky) until it was time for dinner. Dinner was chicken curry... which was really weird since we were in Switzerland. But whatever, after dinner Tracee and I walked around Lucerne. All the shops were closed except one touristy type store. I found a really cute Swiss Military watch, so I made the rash decision just to buy it. How often am I in Switzerland to buy a watch? After we walked around, we met up with a few tour people to have a drink in the hotel bar before going to bed. I think Lucerne was one of the most expensive cities in Europe. A bottle of coke was 5 Swiss francs... which is like $5. Yeesh. Mixed drinks were 15 francs. Lucerne might be the most boring city we visited on our trip.
Day 11 & 12 - Paris
We left Switzerland HELLA early (7 am) to drive to France. We arrived in Paris, after a pretty long bus ride, and went straight to a little perfumerie for a demonstration. When we arrived in Paris there was a CRAPLOAD of traffic. And I thought Italian drivers were bad... Parisians were 10x worse. I think it was the World Rugby Finals or something.
Due to traffic... we were a bit late, but were still able to smell a different crappy perfumes before leaving. After the perfumerie, we headed to the hotel to check in and relax a bit. Dinner was served in the hotel (it was some kind of chicken and rice dish... it was OK) and then we all took the subway to the Eiffel Tower. The Eiffel Tower was AMAZING. It was totally breath-taking and beautiful. We took the elevators to the very top and had a great view of Paris. After the Eiffel Tower, a group of us went to a little cafe to have hot chocolate and snacks (I had fries and an Orangina). It took forever to catch a cab back to the hotel, but we finally got back around 1 am.
The next morning, we met on the bus at 7:30 am to get a driving tour of Paris. We drove past the Louvre, past the Musee D'Orsay, past... lots of other stuff I don't remember. Oh yeah! The building that houses Napolean's tomb, the Artillery Museum, and the park near the Eiffel Tower. Great photo ops! After the little driving tour, we were dropped off at the Louvre for our free day in Paris! Our small group (Doug, Pete, Breanne, Tracee, and me) walked around the Louvre and saw the greats: Mona Lisa, the Winged Victory, the Venus Di Milo, Napolean's Coronation, and Napolean III's Apartment. We kind of did a rushed tour and were in and out of the Louvre in about two hours. After the Louvre, we had some yummy savory crepes and then walked to the Notre Dame. The Notre Dame was huge and beautiful... but to be honest, we were a bit church'ed out. We've seen tons and tons of beautiful chapels all throughout Europe, but the Notre Dame was quite amazing. After Notre Dame, we got lost on the subway... for like 2 hours. It was terrible. We eventually made it to the Arc De Triomphe and since it was Sunday, we got in for free!! We took the millions of steps to get to the top of the Arc and then from there, had a great view of Paris in the daytime. After the Arc, we walked around Champs D'Elysee. I was really only interested in one store... Louis Vuitton. I had to wait in LINE to get into the store and then decided to buy a wallet after being inside for like 20 minutes. The wallet was SO expensive... the most expensive thing I've bought maybe... but it's totally worth it.
Ah... beautiful wallet. After shopping, we headed back to the hotel to rest. Tracee and I did a few loads of laundry, checked our email, and just relaxed in the hotel. Around 9 pm, we met up with the rest of the tour group and headed near the Can-Can dancing area (some people went to a cabaret show... but I didn't want to spend €112 on a nudie dance show). A small group of us walked around to find some dinner and eventually found this really cute hole-in-the-wall place. It was super cheap too!! Finally, some affordable food. They had three course meals for only €9,90. I got onion soup, pepper steak with potatoes, and chocolate mousse!! So good. After dinner, we walked to a bar down the street where the entire tour group was congregating. We hung out for a bit, then eventually left at like midnight. Our last night in Paris *sigh. I definitely want to go back someday... very beautiful.
Day 13-17 - London!
We left for London at 7:30 am and arrived in the UK at around 3 pm. The end of the tour was bittersweet. I definitely enjoyed my time on the tour and I had met a lot of cool people... but I was ready to vacation without the huge group. Tracee and I took the underground to our hotel in the Bayswater district of London. It was long and tiring dragging all our luggage around the subway, but we were definitely surprised and pleased to find that our hotel (that I found on Expedia) was AWESOME. I don't know if the clerk messed up or just liked us, but he gave us a one bedroom apt instead of the studio apt that I paid for. SWEET. I took a nap while Tracee walked around for some groceries and to make a few calls. After we relaxed and had dinner, we headed back to Russell Square to meet up for ONE LAST DRINK with a few Contiki people. We also bought a few tickets from the Contiki office (discounted tickets for The London Dungeon and the Tower of London). It was nice to say goodbye... um, again... to everyone and we headed home around 10 pm.
The following morning, well kind of morning, we woke up at like 12 pm. Wow. We slept like 12+ hours. I think the tour just wore us out... but all that sleep felt REALLY nice. After we got ready, we left for the London Dungeon Tour. The tour was TOTALLY cheesey with over the top actors and gruesome statues and stuff. But it was pretty damn fun. After the tour, walked over the London Bridge and got sandwiches and ate them on a concrete bench outside. We walked all the way from the London Bridge to St. Paul's church to Oxford Circus to our hotel in Bayswater. It must've been like a 5 mile trek. Wow. Not doing that again. We shopped a little bit in Oxford Circus... Miss Selfridge is a REALLY cute and trendy store. I didn't end up buying anything, but they have the cutest stuff. I also realized they have a WEBSITE where you can buy their stuff too. SWEET. Anyway, I ended up just getting a tank top from Esprit. We found an Indian take-away place and got Chicken Tikka Masala for dinner. The food was pretty gross, but whatever. We were tired and hungry.
On our third day in London, we woke up semi-early and went out to Russell Square. We went back to the Contiki office to get tickets for the London Eye and after we headed to the British History Museum. Tracee and I split up for a few hours to explore the museum on our own. I saw Cleopatra's mummy and lots of other historical and beautiful things (none that I can specifically remember right now). The Rosetta Stone was in the museum, but I'm retarded and was unable to find it (Tracee did and took a few pics). After the museum, we took the bus (which was FUN!) to the London Eye. The London Eye was really cool, but I was bored after like 10 minutes (the ride lasts 25 minutes). After the London Eye, we went to Leicester Square and found a Korean restaurant for dinner. It was REALLY yummy and reminded me of home a bit (I got kimchee chigae and Tracee got bibimbop). After dinner we went to watch the play Avenue Q. It was SO funny... like a dirty Muppets movie. They cursed and had puppet sex... it was funny and interesting. The actors were also GREAT singers. Sweet. After the play we checked our email in an internet cafe and then headed back to the hotel.
On our fourth day in London, we woke up early to see the changing of the guard at Buckingham Palace. It was pretty boring, but the band was AWESOME. I thought they would play old and stodgy British songs... but they played Michael Jackson's Thriller, U2's Dead or Alive, Rocky's Eye of the Tiger... really random and AWESOME songs. Sweeeeet. After the changing of the guard we walked to the bus stop and took the bus to the Tower of London. The Tower of London was pretty cool... we had this funny Beefeater guy that showed us around and told us the history of the castle. After the little tour, we saw the Crown Jewels and walked all around the castle. After, we waited for Tracee's bf's friend to meet us, but the timing was wrong. She left work RIGHT after we stopped waiting. Tragic. After the tour, we took the bus to Picadilly Circus (which is like Times Square in New York... according to Tracee, since I've never been there). It was a bit ghetto, but interesting. Tracee and I both got jackets (I got a Manchester United football sweatshirt and Tracee got a London sweatshirt) from this little shop with a creepy shopkeeper... he called us "lovely ladies" and asked us where we were "from." I hate when people ask this question because I know they're just asking what ethnicity I am... instead of where I'm really from. So when I answer it usually goes like this:
ignorant person (IP): where are you from?
me: California
IP: no, where are you FROM?
me: Los Angeles
IP: no, where are your parents from?
me: Los Angeles and Fresno
IP: no no, where are your grandparents from?
me: Fresno?
IP: no...
me: OK OK I'm CHINESE.
F'ing idiots. Anyway, the jackets were quite cute. We took the bus back to Paddington Station and got dinner at this shwarma type place to eat at the hotel. We just hung out in our room for our last night in London and relaxed.
On our fifth and last day in London, we checked out of the hotel, left our luggage at the reception, and went to check our email at the local internet cafe. We got ready to leave for the airport around 12 and took the express train to Heathrow. Man, LAX security ain't got nothing on Heathrow's. They have some pretty extensive security checks. We had to first put our carry-on luggage through the xray thingy, then we had to walk through the metal detectors. THEN we had to do another security check and put just our shoes through a xray thingy. Yeesh, but we finally got through and looked around the duty free shop. I bought cute little Paddington Bears (one for me, Sooz, and Ellen) and a sandwich for lunch.
Our flight was finally ready and we boarded the plane at like 4 pm. There was a delay, so we didn't take off until about 4:45 pm. The flight was REALLY long, REALLY boring, and overall just terrible. I have a hard time sitting in one place for very long. The flight was about 11 1/2 hours long, but we arrived in LAX on Friday at 8 pm. Whew. SO LONG. Jeremy was nice enough to pick Tracee and me up from the airport and take us back to their apt in Encino. My dad picked me up from Encino and I had fun telling Euro stories to my family and giving out presents.
Overall, my trip was amazing. I'm not sure I'd do another bus tour thingy, but it was a great way to see a LOT of Europe in a short amount of time. I know that I want to go back to Paris, Rome, Florence, and Germany. Switzerland and Austria were pretty, but very boring. I met a lot of cool people and had a great time. But it's nice to be back in the states. *whew... long long updates.

EuroTrip 2007 Paris |
EuroTrip! Part 2 - Venice to Florence
Day 6 - Venice, Italy
We left Austria early as usual and drove straight into Italy. We arrived into Venice in the early afternoon and took a boat into the city. Venice was a really pretty city with really old buildings and awesome scenery. We walked around San Marcos (St. Mark's) Square, into the cathedral, and up the bell tower for great views. San Marcos Square was pretty nice with the exception of the hundreds and hundreds of pigeons. EVERYWHERE. Pigeons are rats with wings. Dirty, unhygienic, and... dirty. Ugh. They just eat and poop everywhere. So gross. But apparently, according to history the pigeons were the ones that lead the sailors to the marshland that is now Venice. So they're sacred... but still gross. It's also €100 if you kick a pigeon... even accidentally. Gross things. Ugh. Anyway, Tracee, Al (our Canadian friend), and I walked around Venice to explore a bit. I bought a few murano glass necklaces as gifts, a pendant and ring for me, a cute cheap brown leather bag from this cute store called Carpisa (it's a chain! really cute and cheap stuff), and a fake Burberry. All over Italy they have these shady guys that show fake bags on a blanket in the streets. They had a really cute fake Burberry bag and the conversation with the shady man went like this:
Me: How much for that one *points*
Shady Man (SM): €120
Me: NO WAY
SM: How much do you want to pay?
Me: €25
SM: €75
Me: €25
SM: €40
Me: Forget it.
SM: OK OK, €25
I realize that €25 is pretty pricey for a fake, but whatever. At least it's not €120. If people really paid €120, I feel very very sorry for them. The bags are only worth €20-25 at the most. Yeesh. I should've said €20. Oh well. So after our long day in Venice, we went to our hotel for the night and watched The Simpsons in Italian. Very nice. :)
Day 7 & 8 - Rome, Italy
Ahh Rome. Possibly one of my favorite cities on the tour. We arrived into Rome around 3 pm, and had a mini walking tour with our group. We saw the Spanish Stairs, the Trevi Fountain, the Pantheon, and then dinner at this really cute restaurant (antipasto, pasta, bruschetta, tiramisu... very yummy!). After dinner we (the tour group) checked into our hotel in the outskirts of Rome, relaxed a bit, then took a 20 minute walk to a sports bar down the road. It was pretty fun... but I had the worst mojito I've ever had. Which is my fault since I shouldn't have ordered a mojito in Italy. We hung out at the bar for about an hour or so, then a small group of us left a bit early (everyone else stayed until like 2 am... we left at like 12 am).
The next morning, we woke up bright and early and took the train back into the heart of Rome. Our tour manager, Ali, took us all right to San Pietro's Square (St. Peter's) in Vatican City and straight to the Vatican Museum. Usually the line for the museum is super long, but LUCKILY on that day, the Pope was giving an audience in San Pietro's Square so the line for the museum was pretty dang short (score!). We got into the museum around 9:30 am (even thought it usually opens at 10 am... we got lucky) and walked around for awhile. A small group of us (me, Tracee, Pete from Seattle, Doug from Toronto, and Breanne from Calgary) walked around the museum together and looked at all the amazing sites. We saw the Sistine Chapel which was totally amazing and all the other beautiful artwork in the museum.
After the museum, we got a few slices of pizza and walked into St. Peter's Square to watch the end of the Pope's audience. After the speech was over, we walked around near St. Peter's Square and then met up with the tour group around 1:00 pm. As a group, we headed near the Coliseum to begin our guided walking tour. The tour was... well it was mostly a blur because I didn't pay any attention. It was like 90 degrees and I was just concentrating on not sweating. It didn't work... I still sweat like a pig. But it was cool to see the sites. We saw the Forum, the Coliseum, and... well that's all I can remember. The walking tour ended around 3 pm and our little group decided to go see the Coliseum. The Coliseum was amazing... you can see the cells down below where the slaves and animals used to be held. It was surreal to be in this place that's stood for hundreds and hundreds and hundreds of years. It was also a bit humbling to know that I was standing in this ancient building that has stood the test of time. So crazy. It's hard to describe without sounding cheesey, but overall it was amazing.
After getting our fill of the Coliseum, our small group walked around the shopping area and had dinner at this cute little hole-in-the-wall restaurant. We all ordered pasta, of course, and had a really nice meal. I got this penne that was a bit spicy. Yum. After dinner, we walked around some more stores... I got myself some gelati (probably my third or fourth cup since being in Italy) and just relaxed. We met up with other people in the tour at the Spanish Stairs and all took the train back to the hotel at 9 pm. After getting back to the hotel, I just passed out.
Day 9 - Florence
Ahhh Florence. It was so quiet and serene in Florence, as compared to the other Italian cities we had visited. It was much more laid back and not quite as hustle-bustle as Rome or Venice. We got into Florence around 11 am and were given a cool leather demonstration. The guy told us how to tell between real and fake leather. Which was kinda cool I guess. After the demonstration, we had another guided walking tour which was fun. The tour guide was this older lady that was really cute and a bit glamorous. After the tour, Tracee and I walked around the city to explore. I bought a cute cardigan from Zara and we got a few presents (a nice leather wallet for my Dad, a belt for Tracee's bf). We were also able to go to a cheap internet cafe to catch up on emails and news (aka, TheSuperficial.com, WWTDD.com, etc.). We were back on the bus around 3 or 4 pm to head to the hotel.
Once we checked into the hotel, we showered and relaxed a bit before our big Tuscan dinner! The dinner was pretty fun. There was a guy that played the piano and sang while we ate. And then this awesome opera singer came out and performed a few songs... she had a really strong and amazing voice. There was quite a bit of cheesiness (chicken dance, etc.) and the food was only mediocre, but it was good fun. After dinner, almost the entire tour group went clubbing at this place called the Space Discotheque. So funny!! It was pretty cool tho... downstairs they had karaoke (where the DJ was being a bitch because she just wanted to sing instead of letting the patrons sing) and upstairs they had a dance floor. Tracee and I stayed for awhile... probably until like 1 am? Then we headed back to the hotel to pass out. Florence clubbing = FUN!
And now I am tired of updating. To be continued!!

EuroTrip! Part 1 - London to Austrian Tyrol
So! Today is my first full day, back in the states. Woo. It's been quite lovely being home. I got home last night around 10:30 pm, unpacked a bit, gave presents to my family, and then fell asleep at like midnight. This morning, I woke up a bit early, did a few loads of laundry, went to the dentist for my 6 mos. checkup, and had a LOVELY lunch from the Hat. I really missed some hearty American food when I was in Europe. So! Time for the vacation re-cap (might as well, it's rainy outside and I'm lazy... no point leaving the house just yet).
Day 1: London
Arrive at Heathrow airport in London, take an hour long tube ride to Russell Square, got lost on the way to the hotel (Tracee and I were both butt ass tired and pretty cranky), finally found the Imperial Hotel, took a fab 3 hour nap, then went out exploring. We ended up walking around Leicester Square which turned out to be a mini Chinatown. We found a reasonable Japanese restaurant for dinner, then retired back to the hotel around 9-ish.
Day 2: Amsterdam
We met up with the Contiki group at 6:45 am, and were on the bus and ready to go at 7:30 am! We drove through England to Dover, and took a ferry over to France. We drove through France and Belgium, and finally arrived in Amsterdam around 5 pm. Long ass day in the bus. We had dinner at the hotel, which was Hotel Ibis, and then we were bussed into downtown Amsterdam. We took a 90 minute cruise through the canals in Amsterdam which was awesome, then after Tracee and I walked around Amsterdam with Al (Canadian guy on the tour). We walked through the red light district... which is pretty much indescribable. The women of the night dance around in their glass doors, then if men want to... um... rent them?... for the evening, they negotiate a price then they close the blinds in the glass door. It was surreal to walk around seeing the girls dancing in the windows OR to see the curtains closed. Ai yi yi. Anyway, Tracee, Al, and I went to a "coffee shop" to partake in the... *ahem, local customs?... and then we took the train back to hotel and passed out at like... 12-ish. The next morning, we had free time in Amsterdam so Tracee and I went to the Anne Frank museum and shopped around a bit. I ended up buying a cute navy messenger bag that appropriately says "Amsterdam."
Day 3: St. Goar
Left Amsterdam at 7:30 am (after a continental breakfast, which is croissants or random bread rolls and jam... which is pretty much all we got the entire trip), drove through the Netherlands into Germany. We arrived at St. Goar in the Rhine Valley in Germany around 5 pm. St. Goar was a TINY city near the river and it was really quaint. We walked up all these crazy stairs to this old castle to get a beautiful view of the valley. The next morning, we went to a little beer stein store, where the owner gave us the rundown on beer steins. I bought myself a little beer stein (it can hold like a can of beer instead of the giant liter steins). I also got myself a pair of really comfy Birkenstock sandals from this other little store in town! Woooo. Buying stuff is fun.
Day 4: Munich
The drive to Munich was really scenic and nice. We got to Munich to the hotel, which was a REALLY nice Holiday Inn, around 3 pm? Then the whole group took the train to downtown Munich and we walked around for a bit. We saw the Glockenspiel (this giant old cuckoo clock), had a GREAT dinner at Haxnbauer (pork knuckle!! Yum, it's not really a pig's hoof... because that would be gross. It's just this cut of pork that's bbq'ed on this spit thing for hours... really tender and yummy), then had a "Radler" at the oldest beer haus in Germany. The Hofbrauhaus was REALLY awesome. It was this traditional beer haus, with long wooden tables, a band playing the polka, and lots n lots n LOTS of beer. A Radler is just a half beer/half lemonade... because honestly, I can't drink a liter of beer without getting sick. I chugged the last 1/4 of my Radler (well, it was funny... one of the tour guys, Justin, randomly purchased this pair of fuzzy handcuffs, and they cuffed me to my beer glass. So I had to chug the beer to free myself) and was pretty damn wasted. I passed out in the hotel room with my contacts and shoes still intact, but luckily Tracee woke me up to get ready for bed after 45 minutes of being passed out.
Day 5: Austrian Tyrol
Next morning, we dropped off half the group to go white water rafting (Tracee and I declined... because it was balls cold). We hung out at this little cafe, checked email, then when the group got back, we went to the Swarovski Crystal museum. The museum was really really random with weird artwork but the shop was pretty cool. I got myself two pairs of earrings and a pair for my mom. After the museum, we were off the hotel which was this little place in this TINY town. We had a pasta dinner, which was random since we were in Austria, and after dinner we had this little party in the hotel bar. Which was cool because we were the only ones in the entire hotel except for this old lady that lived there. The party was pretty fun... lots of random music, dancing, and drinks! Sweeeeet. There was also really cute dog that lived at the hotel.

Currently in: London
Ahhh my first blog entry since the beginning of my EuroTrip. Unfortunately today is my LAST day in Europe. I'm hanging out in an internet cafe until it's time to train it back to Heathrow. Overall my Eurotrip has been pretty freaken amazing. I'll do a quick recap of the cities I've visited and then when I get home later tonight, I'll try to do a more detailed update with PICTURES. Oh yes... lots and lots of pictures. I've taken 600+ pictures in Europe. Crazytown. Actually, what's crazier is that I've deleted a lot too... Let's begin the quick recap.
Tuesday 9/4 - depart for London from LAX... minor hiccup, Tracee forgot her passport and her bf had to drive home to get it, then bring it back to LAX. The flight was long and it sucked. But, free movies!

Wow, I got tired just recapping the cities I've visited. It's amazing how long I've lasted without a cell phone or constant internet access. My flight is later today at 4:15 pm... then I'm due to arrive to LAX at 7:30 pm PST. See you guys soon!!! WOOOO.

Almost to Europe
Ok, not really. But we're leaving tomorrow at 4 pm for LONDON! AHHHH. I'm so excited. Right now I'm at my sister's apt in Encino ("the valley"). I was watching The Mummy Returns earlier, but Tracee turned it off because she doesn't like it. I wonder why I really like The Mummy movies. I'm a nerd. Anyway, I digress.
So this weekend back at home has been really really great. I've done a lot of fun things and met up with a lot of old friends. So my last update was Friday night. Let's see... I met up with David, Alan, and Rob at Dave & Busters. It was ok. Nice to see those guys again I guess. Alan kept wanting to talk about my ex which was stupid and weird. He said things like, "Yeah, he's got a new girlfriend now. He got over it." Weird shit. Anyway we met up with Mag and Crystal after DnB closed and then I went home.
Saturday, I woke up early to get my eyes checked (thankfully my eyes have not gotten worse, woohoo!) and then got my hair did at Regis. Sara did a GREAT job on my hair as usual, then after I walked around the mall. I ended up getting my watch battery replaced and I got a cute green skirt and plain white shirt from Express. The rest of the day I just kind of hung out at home with my sisters. We went to get Pinkberry (again) and we all went swimming. Saturday night I had dinner with Susie and Chris at Kabuki (yum, tempura california roll, BSCR, and salad) and after dinner we headed to 24 hr Walmart (of course). I just got a few necessities for my trip and Susie and I both got this cute cheap sportsbra.
Sunday, my mom had a bbq at our house and invited her teacher friends, my aunt and cousins, and Susie and Chris. I went swimming wtih my sisters and a few family friends, then Susie and Chris got there around 8-ish. Dinner was quite tasty (bbq chicken, ribs, hot dogs, pilaf rice, etc.) and it was nice to hang out at home with my family. I met up with Magus, Eric, Wei, and Richard around 1 am and we hung out at Wei's house. They played cards and drank, whilst I played Wei's DS and watched the movie Crank.
Today, I had lunch with Magus at the new Thai place near my house and after went to a pedicure with Susie. Susie was nice enough to drive me to 7-11 for a slurpee (mmmm slurpee) and the mall to get something for my DS (it's a web browser so I can get internet on my DS!). After I went home and re-packed (using Susie's big tote bag, THANKS SOOZ!) and then my family drove me to my sister's apt in Encino. Which is where I am right now. It's stifling hot in here and I think it's time to get away from this hot computer for a bit.
To all my friends, I'll miss you guys whilst I'm in Europe :) I'll see you all when I get back!!

Hot as Hades
Man I take back everything I said about Mountain View being hot. Holy crikey it's hot in LA. Right now it's about 10:45 pm and it's still like 88 degrees. 88 degrees at NIGHT. Wow, I'm sitting in my parents living room in just a tube dress and I'm sweating. The fan is on and everything. Yeesh. Anyway, what the hell have I been up to?
Wednesday - work, then headed to City Beach for a mini work off-site! Yay!! It was SUPER hot in there but it was really really fun. To explain, City Beach isn't really a beach. It's an indoor sports facility. So they had volleyball courts, basketball courts, ping pong, pool, bocce ball, foosball, and indoor rock climbing! We were there from about 1-4 and then went to the local bar for a bit. After the bar, I met up with Phill to borrow his big backpack.
Thursday - work, a few meetings, left work at 3:30 pm and headed down to LA! I got gas and washed my car in one of those automated things and hit the freeway. I hit traffic on the way down through San Jose, but the drive was traffic-free the rest of the way. WEE! I stopped once to use the bathroom, then stopped again to eat a quick burger at Carl's Jr and get gas. I got home around 10 pm and then just spent the night doing laundry.
Friday - woke up around 10 am, drove over to Susie's house around 11, got Coffee Bean (yum!), then drove out to South Coast. I was the navigator but I kept getting Susie lost. Oopsie! Sorry Sooz. Hehe, but we finally made it to the Costa Mesa rack! Yay!!! I got lots of fun stuff... I got a really cute jersey/cotton tube dress, a really cute stripey tube dress from To The Max (BCBG), and two pairs of cute underpants. After having a "snack" at Boudin's, we walked around Best Buy, then left to meet up my family for dinner. We had Italian food at Lascalia's or something in Whittier and then after dinner, Susie and I went to Old Town for PINKBERRY *yum, I got a REALLY cute thick grey jacket (even though it's hot as hell here, I can wear it in SF), and we walked around Urban. Now it's about 11 pm and I'm going to head to Dave n Buster's to hang out with Alan and David, I haven't seen either of these guys in like 3+ years. Interesting.

Why is it so hot?
It's damn hot in Mountain View today. The air is a bit humid and the sun is blaring. Wow it's hot. I wish I could handle heat like I used to down in LA. I used to wear jeans and stuff in the 100 degree summers and I was fine! I used to sweat a little bit, but not too much. Now, it gets over 80 and I'm dying. Not literally dying or anything, but I'm really hot and uncomfortable. Maybe because I've gotten quite a bit fatter since moving up here? Maybe because I've just grown accustomed to the cool to mild temperatures of the bay area? Hm. Whatever it is, it's made the heat unbearable for me. When I go home to visit, I wear lots of dresses and try not to move while the sun is out. I usually try to avoid leaving the house between the hours of 1-4 because it's just too damn hot. I'm pathetic.
What else is new... hmm. I went to work yesterday, left early to go to REI (bought a really nice/thin/warm NorthFace brown fleece jacket, earplugs, a clothesline, and a microfiber thin towel), got my second ever bikini wax (why? I guess because I'm going to Europe. Who cares, no one will see it but me. It wasn't too bad this time but I did buy some numbing cream to try next time... bikini waxes are awesome), then when I went out to dinner with Ellen at Osha (a Thai place). Dinner was pretty dang yummy. We had chicken satay and thai iced tea. I ordered the pad thai and Ellen got the tom yum. Man we were full after dinner.
Today I just had work and a lovely massage. Now I'm just kind of killing time until the traffic dies down a bit. I need to hit up Best Buy to buy Heroes Season 1 on DVD and then I'll head home to start packing. I've been freaking out (as you can tell from my earlier entries) about the whole packing situation. I'll be sleeping, then wake up and realize I forgot to write something on my packing list, wake up and actually write the item on my list, then go back to sleep. It's completely neurotic. But if it helps me pack, then whatever. I've got lots of crap on that list.
