The Gizmo from Pismo

If anyone can tell me what cartoon that line is from... I'll be impressed. And not even a little bit impressed but REALLY impressed. On to the story of my life... Pismo was GREAT. It was awesome and relaxing and full of deeeelicious meals!

Thursday had work all day and mostly played with Wyzer (pronounced Whizzer). He's probably one of the cutest and sweetest little dogs EVER! Love him.

We Love Wyzer

Anyway, I also took lots of pictures with him. After work, I got gas and was OFF to Pismo! I stopped for dinner at Carl's Jr and eventually made it into Grover Beach (where the condo is technically located)/Pismo at about 10:15 pm. It was perfect timing because Chris and Sooz got there at like 10. Grrreat. We all just hung out around the condo and unpacked. I chose the downstairs room instead of the master bedroom because 1. I always sleep in there and 2. there's a TV in there. Obvious pick for me because one of my most favoritest activities is to watch TV in bed. So Thursday night we just sat around and watched tv and talked. It was awesome.

Friday morning, woke up around 9:30 am or so and left the house around 11 for downtown Pismo. Which isn't really "downtown" but is mostly just like one small street. Whatever. We had the best clam chowdah bread bowl EVER from Splash Cafe (Chris got a burger because he doesn't like chowdah... abominable) and then hit the Prime Outlet Stores of Pismo (of COURSE). We went to Nine West where Sooz got really cute heels, Pac Sun where I got a cute red tank top, Shoe Pavilion where I got navy blue slip-on chucks, Calvin Klein where Sooz and I both got plain tank tops, and Polo... which was a disappointment. Overall we were quite happy with our purchases. After shopping we went to the market (nicest Von's EVER) to pick up dinner supplies for Saturday night then back to the condo to watch more TV. We left for dinner around 6-ish and ate at Jocko's. Jocko's is this hole-in-the-wall type steak house out in the middle of nowhere (Nipomo, CA) which is about 10 minutes south of Grover Beach. SWEET. We all got the same cut of steak, which I forgot is called... so good. SO good. The meat is super flavorful and the sides are awesome. Garlic french bread, baked beans, baked potato. Yum. PLUS you get coffee and ice cream in the end. All for like $25. $25?! Wow. After dinner we were super stuffed so we just wobbled back home and... you guessed it... watched more TV. We tried to rent a movie from Blockbuster but didn't find anything interesting. Man we were boring with all that TV watching. But it was really nice to just relax.

Saturday we woke up around 10-ish and left the house around 11:30 for Solvang, CA. But first we hit up a MINI HORSE FARM. That's right people, a MINI HORSE FARM. It was probably one of the cutest things I've seen in awhile. Tons of mini horses just frolicking in this farm. So great. After the mini horse farm we found downtown Solvang and walked around for a bit. It's a really cute town... but hella boring. We rented a bicycle surrey thing (which is basically this carriage shaped thing where four people pedal and one person steers). It was a big workout but very very fun. We were quite sweaty and exhausted after our hour was up. After the surrey adventure, we went to this little cafe called the Green House Cafe where we all had REALLY yummy sandwiches. Susie got a smoked turkey sandwich and it had like two inches of just MEAT. It was crazy. I got a chicken sourdough sandwich and Chris got the chicken pesto on focaccia. Yum. We then drove back to the condo and just sat in the living room. We were all beat. Around 7-ish we started cooking dinner (aka I started the grill and then burnt everything while Susie handled the veggies). We ate around 8 pm and it was QUITE yummy and surprisingly healthy. We probably should've gotten more meat. Oh well. Next time. After dinner Susie and I made a quick stop to Von's for some ice cream sundae essentials and then of course, we just sat around and chilled in front of the TV. We're such homebodies.

Sunday we woke up around 10-ish and cleaned the condo for awhile. Then we left for lunch and had Mo's BBQ in downtown Pismo. The food was pretty dang good. Susie and I got the shredded bbq pork sandwich and Chris got the tri-tip sandwich. We also got an order of garlic fries... and they were quite yummy. After lunch, we walked down the beach and just sat around for a bit. There was the cutest mini yorkie puppy and the cutest pittbull puppy. After the beach we headed home to rest. Chris stayed behind to watch sports whilst Susie and I went to get our nails did. Woot! We only found ONCE place open on Sunday and they were understaffed so it took awhile. But no biggie, it was still a good mani/pedi. Finally we got back to the condo, sat around for a bit, and finally headed home around 6:15 pm. The drive wasn't too shabby... I've realized that I need to listen to non-music to keep me awake. Which is interesting. So before my drive to LA for Labor Day Wkd, I'm going to buy either audiobooks or comedy cds or something. Dane Cook kept me awake on the drive home even though I've heard his act like 20x. Hm. Ate dinner at Taco Bell and finally got to SF about 10:15 pm. Not too shabby.

Overall it was a grrreat weekend. I loved spending time with Susie and Chris and eating deeelicious food. And now... some pictures for everyone's enjoyment.

Tired after sleeping 10 hours?

Yikes. So I fell asleep last night at like 11 pm and I woke up at 8:30 am. CRAP. So terrible. I hardly remember even hearing my alarm at 6:45 am. Tomorrow I actually have to be here early for a meeting. Boo. ANYWAY, what the hell have I been doing since Sunday? Not much.

Yesterday, Ellen left for NYC for the week to visit her sis and Eunie while Jenn hung out at home with me. I worked from home most of yesterday (had a break in between to pick up my hemmed jeans and to-go lunch from Boudin's). It was fun just hanging out at home... except the work part. Boo. I also ate like... 1/2 a lb of sourdough bread. Gross? Maybe, but it's also QUITE delicious. My jeans fit perfectly now and are the right length for me to wear flats (since I almost never wear heels as I am clumsy and already too tall for my ethnic background)! Yay hemmed jeans. I dropped Jenn off at the airport around 7 pm and then just hung out around the house for the rest of the night. Oh! I also talked to Steven H on the phone for awhile which is weird because I don't think I've ever had a conversation with Steven for that long on the phone. But he just wanted to talk about possible job stuff for his sister.

So after waking up hella late today, I finally got into the office at 10 am. Oops. But I did have a nice surprise when I walked in... my Nordstrom shoes! YAY! So after a few meetings and answering a few emails, I tried on my new shoes. The Jeffrey Campbell thong sandals fit PERFECTLY and I love them. The MICHAEL by Michael Kors wedge red polka-dot sandals don't fit unfortunately. STUPID SHOES! They're super cute tho. The 8s are just a tad bit too tight at the toe (like the side of my foot is sticking out like crazy) but the length is perfect, while the 8.5s are too long length-wise but perfect width wise!! ARGH. And it's not like my feet were swollen or anything when I tried them on... Boo. very very sad.

So now I'm just hanging out in my empty office (everyone left for the day) and waiting until 6 pm so I can call a candidate and then head outta here. I'm planning on going to the San Mateo mall which is on the way home so I can return my cute polka dot sandals. *sigh. It wasn't meant to be I guess. Okay, well I guess I'll finish my work or something.

On a sidenote, I've been feeling really shitty all day today. Kinda cranky and just a bit on the edge with everyone. Yikes. I think I need to go home and just go to bed early and hope for a better day tomorrow (perhaps with some Midol).

The Simpsons!

Woooo. Just watched The Simpsons movie and it was pretty damn great. I had high hopes for the movie and was scared that it would fall painfully short from my expectations, and thankfully it was GREAT. It was sweet and so sooo funny. Awesome. I love The Simpsons. Too bad the newer episodes suck ass.

Jenn visited from LA this weekend and it's been great! Actually she's still here, Ellen and Jenn are watching Miami Ink right now. This show makes me want to get another tattoo. But there's nothing else I'd really get tattooed forever on my body. Also, there's nowhere else on my body that I'd get tattooed. Hmm.

Friday after work, I had dinner with Ellen at Fresh Choice (which is a crappy version of Souplantation). Okay, I just looked up Souplantations, and there's one in Sunnyvale. Thank God. I will totally eat there one of these days. Anyway, after dinner we drove to SFO to pick up Jenn. After we took her to our apt and we dropped off her luggage we went to Baghdad Cafe in the Castro. I got a piece of chocolate cheesecake. Oh man was it delicious. With a glass of milk it was perfect.

Saturday, we woke up around 10 am and left the house to walk around Haight St. We had brunch at Squat & Gobble. It was yummy! I just got a basic omelette and fresh squeezed OJ! Yum. Then we walked up and down Haight Street, ending up at Amoeba Records. I found all sorts of fun CHEAP ass things. I got the movies: Bedazzled, The Truth About Cats & Dogs, and Airheads. Two Brendan Fraiser movies? Oh well, they were only $2.99 each. It was worth it. I also bought the old Local H cd and the Proclaimers cd (both $1.99). I love cheap things. ESPECIALLY cheap dvds. I probably own like 150 dvds. Yikes. After the Haight, we drove over the Golden Gate Bridge and looked around. It was beautiful but really really foggy and windy. After we walked around Union Square a little bit to shop. I ended up buying headbands & a plain white tank top from H&M and then three pairs of cute underpants from Urban. We went home, rested up, then had dinner at The House in North Beach for a late dinner at 10 pm. After dinner, from which we were STUFFED with super delicious food, we went to the Mission and hung out at Beauty Bar and then some other bar in the Mission. It was fun to get dressed up and go out. I ever wore HEELS (my newish KC Reaction wedges I got from the Great Mall). I got semi-drunk off one beer, then we came home and abused SingShot.com for awhile. I have a great recording of Ellen singing Etta James's "At Last."

Today, we woke up pretty late, around 11:30 am and got ready to leave for DIM SUM. Mmmmm I love dim sum. We headed out to Chinatown around 1:30 pm, I dropped of my Joe's Jeans that I got at the Anniversary Sale to be hemmed and then yum yum dim sum time. For some reason, I couldn't eat as much as normal... but oh well. Maybe that's for the best. Then I had to buy my little Pooh key chain collectible thingys and got a CUTE Pooh in a pineapple suit. I have issues. Anyway, after Chinatown we went to The Wharf and walked around a little bit. Jenn and Phill and Ellen got breadbowl clam chowder and I got an ice cream cone. Yum! Then we were tired, so we just went home, watched tv, and took naps. GREAT. I love naps. Then we, the girls, went to KFC for dinner (I haven't had KFC since like high school. The chicken is only decent, the sides are pretty damn good). After dinner we went to the AMC on Van Ness and watched THE SIMPSONS. Which is where I started this post. So on that note, I'm going to try to go to bed. I'm going to work from home tomorrow while Jenn vegetates in front of the TV, then I'll head to Chinatown to pick up my jeans, and then dinner and the airport for me and Jenn.

TGIFF

Thank god it's f'ing Friday. Wooo. Although this week hasn't been anymore difficult than any regular week. I'm just happy that I don't have work for the next two days. Updates updates updates. Wednesday night I went out with Emily, Kishore, Sean, Tito, and JT in the city. The Mission specifically and Luna Park exactly. Everyone had dinner while I sipped my semi-gross strawberry mojito (I had dinner before I got there at 9 pm). The regular mojito was much better. It was fun to just sit around, drink, and chat (mostly gossip).

Thursday, after quite the late start in the morning, got to work around 10 am. It was just another boring work day with a bit of time for the gym in the afternoon. Although I stayed around the office for a really long time. Weird. After the gym I went to Costco to buy toilet paper (that's IT, just a GIANT package of toilet paper. Nice.) and then to L&L's for some deeeelicious Hawaiian BBQ. I headed back to the office after my errands to eat dinner at my desk (I'm pathetic) and finish up a bit of work. Mostly I paid bills and balanced my checkbook. I got home around 9:15 pm and watched Family Guy in bed while also surfing the web. I logged back into my eBay account and decided to start bidding on random crap that I need. I ended up bidding on: iPod protector/cover thingy, iPod car player since I broke my other one, and a camera battery charger since I lost the original (how sad). So mostly I just bid on replacement things. I really need to take better care of my stuff. So since it's been like two years since I lasted logged onto my eBay account, I had to naturally update all of my information (since I like to move and change jobs all the time). I had to update my billing, shipping, and email addresses. After bidding on my items to my satisfaction, I fell asleep around 11:30 pm.

This morning, I woke up semi-early and left the house at about 7:45 am. Got to work early-ish (8:30 am! yay!) and logged on to check my eBay and to my dismay... my account had been suspended! JERKS. So first I thought it was because of some unpaid balance on my PayPal account. I checked that and my balance was... $0.00. I tried calling eBay because I was pissed and all of bids had been cancelled but they referred me back to the website for the "Live Help" crap. Which I guess is kind of cool... it's just a person in an IM helping you.

So I went on there and this security guy told me that my account had been suspended because a mysterious "unauthorized third party" had logged into my account and started bidding on random crap. Now I was confused, because I had logged on the night before at 11 pm and then tried to log back in at 8:45 am. Someone in that 10 hour time span had hacked into my account?! Crazy. The security customer service guy really didn't offer any explanation, only that it had been hacked. Hm. I was a little suspicious of this hacking. And from there... the conversation went like this:

Guy: Is there anything else I can help you with?
Me: Yeah. Quick question, last night I logged into my eBay account after 2 years of inactivity and updated my billing, shipping, and email addresses. Is it possible this "unauthorized third party" is just me trying to update my personal information?
Guy: -pause-
Me: Also, I bid on three things last night.
Guy: -pause- Did you bid on item number *something something*, the ev0 iPod skin?
Me: Yes! I bid on the iPod skin, the ipod car player thing, and the camera battery charger.
Guy: -pause- Oh I see.
Me: So, for clarification purposes... no one hacked into my account. It was ME that was the "unauthorized third party?" I just want to know so I don't have to go and unnecessarily change all my other passwords.
Guy: -long pause- Yes. We at eBay take all the precautions to keep your account safe *blah blah something he found and copied from a manual*
Me: So is there anyway we can reinstate my bids?
Guy: You can re-bid on all the items. Is there anything else I can help you with?
Me: Nope. Thanks.

So overall, I'm glad that eBay does a good job about security for their members. Maybe too good of a job. That's pretty funny that they thought I was a hacker or something. It sucks that I missed out on the bid for the camera charger, but there's another one I'm bidding on again.

Interesting Friday morning adventure. Now it's 2 pm and I'm bored as hell. I had bbq pork mini sandwiches for lunch *YUM with mac-n-cheese too. So I feel pretty stuffed and foodcoma-ish. *sigh. Tonight Jenn is coming to visit for the weekend which should be fun since she's never been up to SF to visit me and Ellen.

And finally, after this long winded post... here are a few random pictures of Luna Park. The pictures of those little plastic animals were cup decorations that came with the mojitos! So cute. Emily and I collected 8 of them. My 4 are sitting on the windowsill along with my other miniature collectible things.

Gimme my shoes, BATCH!

So I guess it's a slow week, because even though I updated yesterday... I'd like to update again today. Nothing really interesting happened since yesterday except SHOPPING. Lovely, glorious, self destructive shopping. Emily and I left work around 5 pm and headed out to Milpitas to the "Great Mall." Turns out this Great Mall is just another ghetto fab outlet mall. They had a lot of stores but it wasn't as big as Ontario Mills down in SoCal. This outlet mall had all the normal stores: Off Saks 5th Ave, Gap Outlet, BR Outlet. They also had these random ghetto stores. AND they had an Abercrombie outlet and a Hollister Co. outlet! Which was new to me. I've never seen those before. The AF outlet was pretty ghetto and not that cheap but the Hollister outlet was better. I didn't end up buying anything from these stores but it was interesting nonetheless.

What I did end up buying was: a pair of cute Kenneth Cole Reaction Shoes from the Shoe Pavilion, a grey soft v-neck sweater from the BR Outlet, and a really cute white long tube top-y shirt from BCBG Max Azria (with pretend buttons... it's VERY cute and I can't find a picture anywhere online)

All great purchases! Each item was under $30... well the shoes were like $35. So each item was under $35. And now I am just doing a bit of work and simultaneously writing an exciting blog. Woo!

Next week have some fun stuff coming up... Wednesday is a BBQ at Sean's house, Thursday I'm driving down to Pismo to meet up with Sooz and Chris (yay!!) for a weekend of random adventures (mostly eating at Splash Cafe, shopping, and taking naps in the condo). It'll be exciting.
